Franklin County saw significant increase in 2022-2023 school year
(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) -- The number of students earning their high school diploma in Indiana is on the rise, according to new data from the Indiana Department of Education.
Nearly 89 percent of Hoosier high schoolers graduated in 2023, which is a 2.5 percent increase from 2022 and the highest since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
One local high school saw a significant jump in graduation rates this past spring.
Franklin County High School had 98 percent of their students earn a diploma, compared to 88 percent during the 2021-2022 school year.
The rapid increase puts Franklin County among the best schools for graduation rates in Southeast Indiana.

East Central: 96%
Franklin County: 98%
Greensburg: 96%
Jac-Cen-Del: 99%

North Decatur: 99%

Rising Sun: 96%
South Dearborn: 85%
South Decatur: 85%
South Ripley: 95%
Switzerland County: 87%
