(SOUTHEAST INDIANA) – Several area schools will be represented at the IHSAA wrestling semi-state tournament next weekend.
Local wrestlers competed at the Regional level on Saturday.
East Central won the Richmond Regional and will be advancing to semi-state as a team. They are also sending 10 wrestlers to compete individually. Trojans senior Brayden Rouse was named the Regional champion.
Milan is advancing six individual wrestlers to the semi-state. They are Kaleb Wilburn, Matthew Baylor, Lukas Richards, Kayden McClellan, Cameron Gilb and Zane Richardson.
Franklin County also has six individual wrestlers advancing to semi-state. They are Cole Freese, Colin Troyer, Breck Bohman, Bryce Bruns, Kyle Bolser and Trevor Bruns.
Batesville is sending five individual wrestlers to semi-state which is the most in school history. The wrestlers are Adam Brewer, David Maher, Damien Dance, Andrew Jones, Max Amberger.
Switzerland County had four wrestlers who punched their ticket to semi-state next weekend. They are Peyton Richards, Ethan Rose, Gabe Rose and Dakota Fields.
Lawrenceburg wrestler Brayden Tudor was also a Regional champion and Drake Rorabacher also qualified for semi-state.
Greensburg’s Cayden Beagle finished fourth and also secured a semi-state spot.
The semi-state will takeplace Saturday.
