(AURORA, Ind.) -- One of Indiana's longest-running street fair returns this week.
The Aurora Farmer's Fair was created in 1908 after Clarence Wilson, a newcomer to Aurora, had the idea of staging an agricultural show.
It continues with a large multi-day festival that has been a tradition in the community for more than a century. The Farmers Fair offers activities for all ages, including carnival rides and games, food and information booths, an exhibit hall, unique contests, live entertainment and more.
The festival takes place from Wednesday through Saturday. Admission is at no cost and music and entertainment is also free.
The Gulf Diner on Main Street is also opening which you can learn more by clicking here. On Saturday, visitors are invited to come out early for the annual Farmers Fair parade, which will start at 10am and run approximately two hours. In addition to a number of floats and decorated entries, the event will showcase marching bands from throughout the area.
The Aurora Farmers Fair is organized by the Aurora Lions’ Club and the Aurora Farmers Fair Association in partnership with the City of Aurora. A complete list of festival activities, in addition to the live entertainment schedule, is available on the Farmers Fair website.
