Batesville boy wins Ohio Valley Kart Association championship

This was McBride's first full year of racing

(CAMDEN, OH) -- A Batesville boy continues to show his impressive skills on the race track.


7-year-old Hunter McBride was named the 2023 Kid Kart 206 champion after winning this weekend at the G&J Kartway with Ohio Valley Karting Association.


McBride has competed in 12 of the 14 races at G&J this year and have won the majority, his father says.


"To date, Hunter has been in a total of 44 races both at local club races, regional, and national races. 2023 has been Hunters first full year of racing and has been so very successful with 16 wins and 16 second place [finishes] so far," Brian McBride said.


Hunter was also awarded the Cup Karts of America North third place trophy this weekend, which is a regional race series that is showcases the best drivers in the north region.


The young driver got his trophy on Thursday and also was awarded several prizes, his father said.
