Batesville Dairy Queen closed Monday

Owner confirmed with The 812

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Monday marks the final day in operations for the Dairy Queen in Batesville. 

Owner Dave Hermesch confirmed the news with The 812 on Monday afternoon.

The location is being terminated by the corporation, Hermesch said. 

Hermesch started working at the Batesville Dairy Queen at 16-years-old and has owned the location since 2003. 

“I am sick to my stomach about closing,” he said. “Thanks for everything, thanks for being customers, and thank you to the employees who have worked with me and went through the wars we’ve went through,” he said. 

Hermesch says he will talk to the landlord about possibly opening another restaurant in the future. 

The restaurant is expected to be open until at least 9 p.m. Monday.
