Batesville eyes first Regional win in exactly 38 years 

Bulldogs host Tri-West tonight

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Batesville is seeking their first Regional championship in nearly 40 years on Friday night. 


The Bulldogs beat Princeton 23-21 to capture the 3A Regional title on November 15, 1986.


Now, exactly 38 years later, Batesville is hoping to repeat history when they host Tri-West at 7:30 p.m. tonight. 


Tri-West High School is located west of Indianapolis in Hendricks County. The team has gone 8-4 on the season so far. 


The 1986 Bulldogs were lead by head coach Jeff Scalf and assistant coaches were Jack Smith, Melvin Siefert, Randy Records, John Seright, and Andy Daiker. 


Players on the 1986 team were Mark Siefert, Andy Gerdowsky, Rob Miller, Doug Voegele, Norm Porter, John Siebert, Jason Meyer, Todd Tekulve, Tom Gillman, Mike Hammond, Hugh Robben, Jeff Hunter, Tim Bohman, Tim Salatin, Duane Brescia, Tom Daily, Brad Abplanap, Greg Hodges, Mark Hartman, Jason Laudick, Rick Ehrman, Jeff Bohman, Eric Clippert, Dan Abplanap, Pete Dall, Andy Brebberman, Mark Martin, Greg Weigel, Brad Kiser, Steve McCreary, Tre Young, Jack Johnson, Todd Simpson, Jay Brinkmoeller, Eric Struewing, Dennis Voegele, Tony Dall and Chris Prickel.
