Batesville grad battling extremely rare cancer

Fundraiser, T-shirt sale underway

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A 2021 Batesville graduate and current college student is battling a rare cancer.

22-year-old Erika Iles attends Hanover and is in her third year of taking pre-med classes and is close to receiving a Chemistry degree.

Earlier this year she went to the hospital and was diagnosed with Desmoplastic small round cell tumors.

She is undergoing chemotherapy in Cincinnati and the medical costs are rising.

“The prognosis of this type of cancer is unknown due to how rare it is. With that being said, Erika is a fighter and has kept a positive attitude this whole time. She is a special young lady and with your help, some of the financial burden can be relieved,” her friends said.

The family has experienced loss over the past two years as Erika’s father passed away as well as grandparents.

A Go Fund Me has been established and you can help this family by clicking here.

There is also a t-shirt fundraiser underway and you can learn more here:
