Scams can occur on social media
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Batesville Police are encouraging renters to be aware of possible scams.
The department has seen an increase in social media scams that involve rental properties.
“The scammers are likely trying to obtain some monetary payment for property they do not own,” the police department said.
Batesville Police are reminding others to use caution when it comes to sending money without a rental agreement through a lawful contract.
