Announced candidacy on Thursday
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Victoria Martz is announcing her candidacy for the Indiana House of Representatives District 55 Seat.
Victoria grew up in the Batesville and Milan areas from 2002 until 2012.
The Batesville alum is a graduate of both Purdue University as well as Indiana University’s law school. She began her legal career as a Deputy Prosecutor with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
Victoria left the Prosecutor’s Office in A2020 to open her own private law office practicing criminal defense and representing individuals on civil protective order and DCS matters. Victoria continues her work as a criminal defense attorney with the Law Office of Jesse K. Sanchez, of Indianapolis, and works out of Batesville.
Victoria grew up the second oldest of the six children of John Martz and Angela Smith (Maiden name Meisburger).
“Victoria is no stranger to managing controversial situations with grace and holds a fiery passion for the pursuit of justice – she wants to bring this passion to the State House to be a powerful voice for the People of Indiana District 55. Victoria wants to reinvigorate and recover our beautiful Southeastern Indiana area from the results of the Opioid Epidemic, and asks for your support to put her in the State House to make that goal a reality,” her press release states.
Indiana House District 55 covers: Fayette, Franklin, and Union Counties in their entirety, and a
small portion of Rush, Ripley, and Decatur Counties.
