(JACKSONVILLE, Fla.) – Batesville native Bryan Hoeing is on a rehab assignment hoping to return to the Miami Marlins soon.

The pitcher suffered a hamstring injury and was placed on the Injured List on May 2.

Hoeing has been having a successful MLB campaign this year. He made 11 appearances out of the bullpen and pitched to a 1.83 ERA prior to his injury.

He is currently with the Triple-A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp club and has appeared in two outings during the rehab assignment.

Hoeing is scheduled to throw three innings for Jacksonville on Tuesday. It is not known when he could return to the big leagues.

The Marlins are scheduled to play at Great American Ball Park against the Reds July 12-14.
