Batesville Schools celebrate staff, students on Friday

Students return to school on August 8

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) -- Batesville Community Schools will be back in session on Tuesday, August 8.

The administration wanted to recognize educators and students before the classwork begins.

A student showcase took place and featured cheerleaders, band members, dance members, archery and a volleyball competition.

Superintendent Paul Ketcham says the event was organized to focus on the district's top priority: their students.

"Our North Star is our students and a lot of times high school can't see elementary events, and elementary can't see high school events. So we are bringing all kinds of talent into one place and showcase student talent," Ketcham said.

There are 2,200 students in the school corporation with approximately 150 teachers.
