(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – The Indiana State Board of Education is moving forward with new high school diploma requirements.
The new requirements are aimed at increasing flexibility for students to personalize their educational journey, and also offer more work-based learning.
The proposed changes are subject to review from the Indiana Attorney General and the Governor.
Batesville Schools will host an informational session to provide details about the changes to diplomas.
It will be held from 7-8 p.m. in the Batesville Innovation Center on Monday, December 16. Attendees are asked to use the entrance IC3 which faces the football field.
If approved, the new diploma requirements would begin with the Class of 2029, which are students currently in eighth grade.
