Bryan Hoeing will start tonight for Marlins

Updated: Jul 6

Returns from two-month rehab assignment tonight

(MIAMI) – Batesville native Bryan Hoeing is getting thrown right into the fire as he returns to the big leagues from an injury.

The Miami Marlins pitcher suffered a hamstring injury in May after a great start to the season.

He made 11 appearances out of the bullpen and pitched to a 1.83 ERA prior to his injury.

He is moving from the bullpen to the starting pitcher role tonight. The Marlins have named him the Opener against the Chicago White Sox.

The timing looks promising for local fans who want to see Hoeing in person.

The Marlins are scheduled to play at Great American Ball Park against the Reds from Friday, July 12 through Sunday, July 14.

Hoeing has never pitched at GABP as he was sent down to the minor leagues just a few weeks ahead of the Marlins trip to Cincinnati last year.
