Caucus held for House District 67 seat

A Jennings County resident was voted in to replace Frye

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) -- A caucus was held to select the new State Representative for House District 67 at the Ripley County Courthouse Annex Monday night.

The caucus was called after State Rep. Randy Frye resigned from the position last month.

There were four candidates who were vying for the seat. Deanna Burkart of Decatur County, Pam Crozier, Lisa Seng Shadday, both of Jefferson County, and Alex Zimmerman of Jennings County.

Following candidate speeches, voting was held by 49 precinct committee members.

Zimmerman was selected to serve as the next representative of House District 67.

House District 67 covers portions of Ripley, Decatur, Jefferson and Jennings counties.
