(BATESVILLE, Ind.) -- A co-op program between Ivy Tech and Batesville High School is giving students an advantage in their future careers.
Last week, four students participated in a signing ceremony where they committed to pursuing technical careers at Batesville Tool & Die for the remainder of the school year.
The students are Mason Jones, Carter Wehr, Mason Mosey and Josh Bischoff.
Each student will be placed for two weeks in 8 different technical fields that will introduce them to what it takes to be successful in those areas.
After the 16-week rotation, each student will be placed in the area that they have the most interest in for the remainder of the year. “We here at BTD are very excited to be teaming up with BHS and Ivy Tech for this Co-op program with their students. This is a great opportunity for the students to get to know why America started with Manufacturing and for our company to educate young adults with an understanding that, in fact, Manufacturing is a great way of life and a great way to make a living,” said BTD program coordinator Toby Walsman.
