Coat, food initiative underway for local kids

Led by United Way of Franklin and Ripley Counties

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – United Way of Franklin and Ripley Counties are launching an initiative for less fortunate kids.

They are hosting a fundraising drive to provide coats and nutritious food to local children.

One in three Franklin and Ripley County families struggle to obtain essential needs like food and clothing.

United Way says 224 local kids need a warm coat and 650 will be in need of nutritious food.

There is a fundraiser underway where residents are encouraged to make one of the following donations by November 30:

  • Every donation of $30 ensures 1 child has a warm body this winter

  • Every donation of $105 ensures 1 child has a full belly for half a school year

  • Every donation of $210 ensures 1 child has a full belly for a full school year

  • Every donation of $240 ensures 1 child has both a warm body and full belly for a year
