(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Greensburg senior Elaina Weber is making a difference in her community while having a bright future.
In school, she is ranked third in her class for GPA and has challenged herself with a full schedule of honors and dual credit courses.
Elaina received an Honorable Mention for her recent Science Fair project. She also was on the Chemistry Honor Roll and earned the Silver-Plated Test Tube Award.
In addition to her academics, Elaina is the Senior Class Representative and has been an active leader in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes as well as Student Council. Elaina has been on the leadership team for FCA for the past 4 years.
She has helped start a girls Bible study, organize events like See You At The Pole, Santa’s Heroes, and field trips to the Creation Museum. Elaina has also been a 4-year member of the Jr. Optimist Club.
“Elaina helps organize events for the school like homecoming, winter formal, and other school spirit throughout the year. Elaina also played on the school’s volleyball team for three years, Champions Together for two years, and participated in Track and Field her sophomore year,” a school official said.
Outside of school she has given back to several organizations.
Elaina has volunteered at the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen, Kids Closet, and Head Start through the Jr. Optimist Club.
Elaina is an active 4-H member. She showed her rabbits in the local fair for the past 11 years which also has included a trip to the State Fair each year. Elaina also enjoys serving with her church by preparing and serving meals at different events.
Additionally, Elaina has job shadowed at DCMH in the following departments: dietary, x-ray technician, and radiation therapy.
“As you can see, Elaina not only plays an active role in her community and her school but she pours out positivity and kindness along the way,” the official said.
She is the daughter of Matt and Tina Weber, of Greensburg.
