Book teaches kids about unconditional love, small sacrifices
(GUILFORD, Ind.) – East Central graduate Mary (Brand) Jutzi is no stranger to children’s books.
She’s the digital marketing associate for Batesville Products where she has helped publish two books that teach kids about the foundry industry.
Jutzi recently began the process of writing a book in her free time and wanted to dedicate it to her mother and sisters.
“Because I’ve seen first hand all the hard work they do and sacrifices they make for their family. And even if they don’t always get the recognition they deserve, they do it all because they love their kids unconditionally,”Jutzi said.
The book is called “This is What Love Looks Like” and it is now available on Amazon by clicking here.
The story is about a mom that teaches her son that love means making small sacrifices for others.
“For example, even though the mom would rather spend all day with her kids, she goes to work to take care of her family,” she said. “At the end of the story, the son surprises his mom by helping do things around the house to show that he loves her too.”
Mary says the first recipients of her book were her own nieces and nephews, who are all under the age of 8.
She even placed some of their artwork in the book so her nieces and nephews could be part of it.
“I was so excited to give them this book, and hoped maybe they’d recognize a little more just how much their mom loves them,” she added.
Jutzi is also the creator of #812Day and is the person who designs the popular shirts.
#812Day is an initiative that began between Jutzi and Batesville Products, along with The 812, to encourage others to give back in Southeast Indiana every August 12.
