(VERSAILLES, Ind.) -- A camp gave students a chance to sharpen their skills in the kitchen this past week.

The Science Behind Cooking Camp was hosted by Genesis: Pathways to Success along with South Ripley Schools.

29 students learned how to cook meals that are traditional to Asia, Europe and North America.

They cooked foods that ranged from fried chicken to sushi, croissants, stir fry and edamame.

“I liked learning how to make sushi. I always wanted to know how to properly roll sushi and how it became a popular food," said Batesville fifth grader Bruce Li.

The camp was an opportunity to explore different cultures for kids interested in culinary arts. Learn more about this camp by visiting www.genesisp2s.org.
