Is a basketball, football and baseball star
(LAUREL, Ind.) – A Laurel fourth grader has earned the coveted DCMH Athlete of the Week honors.
Carter Madden is a three-sport athlete and excels in basketball, football and baseball.
While only in fourth grade, he’s been playing for the fifth grade Laurel Elementary basketball team. He started every game and has the most points on the team.
According to the person who nominated him, he has accounted for 98 percent of the team’s points this season! He had a career high 18 points against St. Louis earlier this year.
On the football field, he helped his Franklin County youth team win a national championship in Tennessee last year.
Madden also catches and pitches in the Franklin County recreational baseball league, and led his team to a championship this past summer.
He’s also known for getting good grades and also believes he is the best Rock, Paper, Scissors player you’ll find.
