Was nominated by a teammate
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A Batesville football player has earned the DCMH Athlete of the Week honors.
Dylan Shane and the Bulldogs had a convincing 21-7 Sectional Championship win over Lawrenceburg on Friday.
What makes the sophomore’s performance special is what happened before the game.
He was under the weather with a sickness, but still came out and performed at his best.
Shane was nominated for DCMH Athlete of the Week by Batesville quarterback Will Jaisle.
“He played exactly how we need him to, he watched a lot of film the entire week, and came up with a bunch of big tackles that were for a loss,” Jaisle said.
“Dylan also took on the lead blockers all game and had a huge role in stopping that Lawrenceburg offense,” he added.
Shane and the Bulldogs will host Tri-West in the Regional game at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
