(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) -- Franklin County senior Quinn Gillman has been named the DCMH Athlete of the Week!
The quarterback led the Wildcats to a big win over the Batesville Bulldogs this past Friday.
Gillman threw for more than 260 yards and had three touchdown passes. He also made a difference on the ground by running for 85 yards.
Quinn is leading the Wildcats to an impressive season so far that might be surprising some people in the EIAC. Not only did they beat Batesville, but they also had a dominant performance against South Dearborn and nearly beat Lawrenceburg.
The team is led by Quinn’s father, Wes Gillman. He says there isn’t much Quinn hasn’t seen on the field.
“He’s a quiet leader but when he talks kids listen, and when he acts, kids follow. He lifts teammates up in a way that’s very unique. It’s a tight knit group and Quinn is a huge reason for that. Nobody, players or coaches, want this season to end because we’re having such a good time,” Wes Gillman said.
“That’s a heck of a motivator to play hard each week.”
The Wildcats will face Bluffton to end the regular season on Friday before hosting Rushville in the first round of the sectionals on October 25.
