Focusing on an “America First” agenda
(SCOTTSBURG, Ind.) – Hugh Doty, of Sellersburg, has launched a bid to seek Indiana’s ninth district congressional seat.
The seat is currently held by incumbent U.S. Rep Erin Houchin who recently refiled for re-election.
Doty is a Republican who says he has an America First agenda and says his focus is on border security, reducing national debt, unlocking American energy, higher compensation for public educators, promoting trade schools and freedom of speech.
“With a focus on putting America's needs first, I aim to work collaboratively to address the concerns of the constituents in Indiana's 9th Congressional District and contribute to the overall prosperity and greatness of our country,” Doty said.
In addition to republicans Rep. Houchin and Doty, two democrats are also vying for the seat, D. Liam Dorris and Timothy (Tim) Peck.
The Indiana Primary will be held on May 7.
