EC football alums have big performances this past weekend

Three grads having success at college level

(ST. LEON, Ind.) – Three East Central graduates had big games on the football field for their colleges on Saturday. 


Wabash College linebacker Sam Ringer recovered a goal line fumble and returned it 100 yards for a touchdown. His team cruised to an easy 31-0 victory of St. Norbert. 


Meanwhile, former Trojans running back Eli Aston had a dominant performance for Mount St. Joseph’s.


Aston had nine catches for 197 yards and a touchdown on Saturday. His performance earned him Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Offensive Player of the Week honors. 


A third Trojan also had a standout game for his team. 


Kole Viel was named Defensive Player of the Week for the University of Indianapolis as the Greyhounds beat Hillsdale 42-16.
