EC student's art to be displayed at Reindeer Ridge during the holidays

Teen following her passion and talent for art

(GUILFORD, Ind.) – An East Central sophomore will have her artwork on display during the holidays in Dearborn County.

Isabella Nichols not only has a passion and talent for art, but also has the drive to help others through her work.

“I love doing things for others and making things for people.  I really do love art and doing something you love while helping others is a great feeling,” Nichols said.

She works at Reindeer Ridge which is a great place for families to visit during the holidays.

The business asked her to paint eight wooden reindeer that will be displayed at the farm this year.

The young artist was thrilled to take on the assignment.

“I’m really glad that I got to do this and really happy they asked me to. It means a lot to not only to be showcased like that, but if someone comes out to see the art, maybe they’ll see how great Reindeer Ridge is as well,” Nichols said.

She has been drawing, painting, making clay art and other forms of art for as long as she can remember.  She also won a regional art contest in Aurora in the past year.

However, she doesn’t seek any special attention for any of her work.

“Really if you can find something you really love to do and maybe one day tie that in with making money, that would be terrific,” she said.

Nichols also has a passion for animals and is considering a future in biology. In the near future, she is also considering starting an Etsy shop where she can make a few dollars from her work.

Reindeer Ridge is located at 7621 N. Dearborn Road in Guilford. The eight wooden reindeer will soon be on display and Isabella is giving a sneak peak into what you can expect
