Formal charges filed in fatal Lawrenceburg pedestrian crash

Incident happened at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Front Street

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – An Aurora man has been formally charged after a woman was struck and killed while crossing U.S. 50 this week.

39-year-old Ashley Quicksall was killed when she was struck by a vehicle around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. 

Lawrenceburg Police identified the driver as 50-year-old Cory Lyon, of Aurora. 

Police say Lyon remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, including field sobriety tests. 

He was booked into the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center and formal charges were filed on Friday. 

Lyon has been charged with two felonies which are: Causing Death When Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Sched. I or II Controlled Substance and Causing Death When Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated.

Other charges include Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person, Operating a Vehicle with a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia.
