Peelman also had successful career at NKU
(RISING SUN, Ind.) – A former Rising Sun standout basketball player has been named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame 2025 Women’s Silver Anniversary Team.
Jessica (Brock) Peelman averaged nearly 19 points her senior year when the Shiners finished as the Class A state runner-ups in 2000.
During her varsity career, she accumulated more than 1,700 points, 865 rebounds, 386 assists and 352 steals. In that time frame, the Shiners went 87-11 with three sectionals, three regional championships, one semi-state trophy and four ORVC conference titles.
Peelman earned numerous awards including AP high honorable mention All-State.
She would go on to play at Purdue-Fort Wayne for one year before transferring to Northern Kentucky University. She scored more than 500 points for NKU and is 15th on the school’s career 3-point accuracy stat.
As a senior, she won the NKU Hustle Award, was a team captain and was selected GLVC all-academic.
Peelman is now a teacher at Ohio County Elementary Elementary and has coached youth and high school basketball and volleyball.
She and the Women's Silver Anniversary Team will be honored on April 26.
