(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Friday marks 61 years since President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas.
For those who were alive at the time, it’s a moment in history where they can still recall exactly where they were when they received the news.
This is the front page of the Batesville Herald-Tribune on November 28, 1963.
Batesville native Eric Lindemann was serving in the Air Force Honor Guard and marched in the JFK’s funeral procession in Washington.
“Lindemann is attending the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and telephoned his parents from Washington Sunday evening, telling them he was to take part in the funeral procession,” the newspaper reported.
