17-year-old diagnosed with brain tumor
(AURORA, Ind.) -- Community members are rallying for a 17-year-old who is battling a brain tumor.
Christopher Browning would be a junior at South Dearborn High School but isn't able to be at school due to the chemotherapy and low immune system.
He has been diagnosed with a form of cancer called Glioma Diffuse Astrocytoma. It is located on the brain stem and it is deemed inoperable.
A fundraiser has been launched to assist Christopher and his family during this difficult time.
"He is undergoing chemo weekly, and is visiting Children’s Hospital twice a week," said a family friend.
"We are trying to raise money for expenses for travel, medicines that are not covered, and help with financial burdens that come along with it," she added.
"Christopher is such a strong handsome young man. Please help us make sure Christopher gets what he needs to kick Cancers butt," said fundraiser organizer Sandra Abbott.
Organizers have set up the Go Fund Me where any donations go directly to the Browning family bank account.
