Fundraiser launched for Decatur Co. family displaced after fire

Fire happened between New Point and Napoleon

(NEW POINT, Ind.) – A fundraiser has been launched after a house fire has displaced a Decatur County family.

Michael and KayLynn Comer’s home on County Road 850 East, which is between New Point and Napoleon, caught fire around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The couple along with their two children are not able to live in the home currently. They are not sure yet if the home will be a total loss.

A benefit account has been established at Napoleon State Bank branches called the “Comer Family House Fire Benefit Account.”

If you want to assist in this time of need, just stop into any Napoleon State Bank branch and ask the clerk for that benefit account.

KayLynn Commer says the family is appreciative of how the community is stepping up during this difficult time.

“The outpouring and outreach, between the donations of money and clothing, even toiletries, has been overwhelming. We are truly grateful,” she said.
