Give back on 812 Day in Southeast Indiana

Takes place this Saturday!

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) -- The area code in Southern Indiana is 812, therefore let's celebrate by giving back on Saturday, August 12.


We encouraging anyone to give back by picking a project in their community that they are passionate about.


We know there are many other initiatives taking place and we plan to compile a complete list.

Here is a list of some projects happening:

  • Batesville Products will have a big surprise for a local non-profit! This video will be on The 812 Friday morning!


  • Amack's Well Community Coffee House in Batesville is offering discounts of 8.12 percent. Meanwhile, the general manager is making a private donation to the Franklin County Humane Society.


  • Oldenburg Academy student media class will spread positivity by creating positive messages on sidewalks while walking the streets of Oldenburg.


  • Strongs Brick Oven Pizzeria (Lawrenceburg) – 1 small pizza for $8.12


  • Weber Sports (Aurora) – Donating 8.12% of sales to the YES Home and giving out free cookies while they last


  • Greensburg High School canned food drive – drop off donations at Greensburg Public Library or Greensburg High School


  • Lawrenceburg Home Boutique – Fun giveaways!


  • 812 reporter Bella Monroe is collecting baby necessities for Southeast Indiana’s Empowering Young Families – drop off donations at Twice Blessed in Batesville, Brookeville Skyline, or St. Leon Skyline


  • Fire truck pull and family-fun attractions (Lawrenceburg Civic Park) – all proceeds support Special Olympics Indiana Ripley Ohio Dearborn Counties


  • Rising Sun Farmers Market (9AM Visitors Center at 217 N High Street) – local produce, vendors, and painted rocks from Bonnie Carrigan and the Rolling Stones


  • Lawrenceburg Farmers Market (9AM to 1PM Mural Lot on High Street) - kids and family activities as well as local vendors selling produce, baked goods, and crafts
