Ellie Acra's exclusive interview with Indiana's governor. Watch Here:
(INDIANAPOLIS) -- Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb is entering his final year leading the Hoosier State in 2024.
His staff reached out to The 812 for a 1-on-1 interview as he reflects on 2023 and plans for next year.
The 812's Ellie Acra sat down with Gov. Holcomb at the Statehouse earlier this week.
Acra is a Greensburg native and a Purdue University senior. She emphasized that many constituents in Southeast Indiana are outside of the Indianapolis TV market, so there is a general unawareness of what takes place at the state-level.
One issue that is top-of-mind for many in Southeast Indiana is the Link 101 project.
Project officials say it would help connectivity, travel and freight movement while opponents fear it will ruin the rural way of life. Acra asked the governor what his message to opponents is.
Gov. Holcomb has also served during turbulent political times including the pandemic. Acra asked him how he helps Hoosiers remember his time leading the state.
The interview also touched on talent attraction and infrastructure while Acra asked some lighthearted questions.
I feel all Indiana residents should join in order to state informed.
Very interesting and a way to stay informed.
