Greensburg breaks ground on inclusion park

Former Greensburg police chief Brendan Bridges came up with the idea

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) -- A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the "Building Bridges Inclusion Park" at Rebekah Park in Greensburg Thursday.

The park will serve children and adults of all abilities with many of the features designed to encourage social, emotional, and physical development.

Former Greensburg police chief Brendan Bridges came up with the idea years ago after seeing some of the challenges his autistic son faced at traditional parks.

The park is 17,000-square-feet and will feature numerous pieces of equipment available for people of all ages.

It is expected to be complete and open in September.
