Greensburg PD warns about phone scam

Scammer poses as DEA agent

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Greensburg Police Department is warning residents about a law enforcement scam. 

Some Greensburg residents have received a phone call from someone posing as a DEA agent who says there is an active warrant from the Greensburg Police Department. 

“They will demand you to pay money to keep from being arrested. It has been reported that in some instances our phone number will also show up when these calls are received,” said Greensburg Chief Mike McNealy. 

The police department is reminding residents that they will not solicit any form of payment over the phone and they do not engage in any transactions involving warrants
