Greensburg residents to wave USA flags from bridge on July 4

Public welcome to attend

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A patriotic display is scheduled in Greensburg on July 4 and the public is invited to attend. 

People will gather to wave American flags over I-74 from the bridge on Moscow Road. 

You can join them at noon on Thursday and your encouraged to bring flags and your friends. The event takes place rain or shine.

This initiative began several years ago by Robin Meyer, of Greensburg, who would wave the flag by himself on Memorial Day.

His daughter decided to surprise him one year by inviting some friends and family to join him. It has now grown to welcome anyone who would like to participate. 

There were than 70 participants on Memorial Day and they’re hoping for a bigger turnout this week. 

Meyer hopes more people get involved and have every Decatur County overpass waving American flags in the future.
