(PHILADELPHIA) -- A Greensburg student can now call herself a national champion.
Emarie Jackson won the New Balance National Outdoors shot put championship in Philadelphia Sunday afternoon.
Jackson threw a competition-best 47 feet and 9 1/4 inches, which is an all-time record at the meet.
The incoming senior can now add National Champion to her resume along with being a two-time All-American.
The 812 spoke with Emarie on Sunday who said, "I am pleased with the win today and closing out my junior year on a high note!"
"I’ve had a goal of being an All-American for as long as I’ve been throwing! To walk out a two-time All-American (1 for discus and 1 for shot) and a National Champ in shot, well, that’s a good day! I threw against some amazing girls and it was a great experience," Jackson added.
Jackson is ranked 9th in the country in shot put. She owns both the shot put and disc all-time record at Greensburg High School as well.
She has not yet decided her collegiate Track & Field plans.
