Will be given to food pantries
(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Greensburg students have organized a campaign to collect cereal boxes for needy children.
The National Honor Society is collecting cereal boxes and will donate them to Hands of Hope food pantry and The Bread of Life.
“It has been brought to my attention that some kids only get meals through the school. I think this would be a good way to ensure that they are getting some sort of breakfast, and cereal doesn’t go bad,” said GCHS student Savannah Danforth.
The high schoolers are teaming up with middle schoolers and elementary students during the collection process. They plan to have a cereal box domino celebration in May.
You can donate cereal by stopping in the high school main office from now until May 10.
“We know a lot of students in our community and school system depend on the school to get their breakfast or lunch. So we really want to stock up the food pantry and we head into summer,” Danforth added.
