Guilford native playing well for Boilers this season

Attended St. X in high school

(WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.) – Purdue is hoping to play spoiler this weekend against Indiana.

The Boilers will close out the 1-10 season at Bloomington in the Old Oaken Bucket game.

One of the key parts of the Boiler offense is Southeast Indiana native Max Klare who is a tight end on the team.

He is from Guilford and attended St. Xavier High School where he was a standout football player and also a top-ranked baseball prospect in Ohio.

Klare initially planned to attend Duke University but decided Purdue based on proximity to home as well as his cousins, Alex and Leo Maxwell, being in West Lafayette.

He is in sophomore year and has 46 receptions for 649 yards and 4 touchdowns on the season.
