Was college football, WWII hero from Greensburg

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Longtime Greensburg history teacher John Pratt tells the story of another unique resident of Southeast Indiana. 

Wendell Osborn attended Greensburg High School before going to the Culver Academy and the Naval Academy. 

Osborn played on the Navy football team which won the NCAA Championship.

He served in WWII and was expected to become an admiral, one day. Unfortunately, that was prevented by his assignment on the ill-fated USS Juneau.
