INDOT to install new lights near Batesville High School

Construction to begin this week

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – INDOT will begin an intersection improvement project at Huntersville Road and State Road 46 on Wednesday.

The project will include new traffic lights. One person familiar with the project said the new light system will be able to serve as a red stop light during times when Batesville High School students are coming to or leaving school.

It is currently a caution light as School Resource Officers manage traffic when students are coming or leaving.

The new light system may also be used as a stop light during sporting and other school events.

The intersection improvement project is being conducted by Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O'Mara contractors.

The construction will impact traffic as drivers are encouraged to slow down and use extra caution. It is expected to be complete this coming summer.
