Provided free meals for entire community
(LAUREL, Ind.) -- The Long Branch Tavern welcomed the community for a free Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday night.
This is the eleventh consecutive year Long Branch has provided a free Thanksgiving dinner.
The bar used to have a rough reputation but it has changed since Bev Keller took over ownership more than a decade ago.
Long Branch has become a fixture in any sort of fundraiser or benefit that happens in the Laurel area.
This year, they raised more than $5,000 to provide Christmas gifts to nearly 130 local kids.
Keller hopes out-of-towners give the bar a visit as it vastly different than the reputation it held decades ago.
