Fundraiser underway, restaurant to donate proceeds
(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – What makes Southeast Indiana special isn’t just what happens during the good times, but also what happens during the bad times.
We always seem to come together when tragedy impacts a local family.
That’s what is happening in Lawrenceburg right now as the community is rallying behind the family of a toddler who passed away.
The life of 1-year-old Caroline Boggs was cut short last week, and her mother's boyfriend has been charged with murder.
Prosecutors say 25-year-old Jesse Sartin shook the toddler on July 24, causing shaken-baby syndrome, which led to the toddler's death on Friday.
The Lawrenceburg community immediately stepped up with a Go Fund Me account for funeral expenses which you can view by clicking here.
Now, one of Lawrenceburg’s most popular restaurants, Proof 124, will give back to the family as well.
“I'm sure by now everybody has heard about the terrible tragedy that happened recently involving the loss of a beautiful baby girl. What you might not know is that Caroline lived in an apartment right behind our building, and was such a sweet, quiet child,” the restaurant said on Facebook.
Proof 124 will give 10 percent of all their proceeds to Caroline's family on Monday, August 12.
"Just screenshot this post and when you come in for lunch or dinner next Monday show it to your server and we'll add a percentage of your check to the donation,” the restaurant added.
Proof 124 is located at 124 Short Street in downtown Lawrenceburg and is well-worth the visit, especially this coming Monday.
