Local archers prepare for state archery tournament

Aiming to become the best

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Hundreds of local students will compete at the state archery tournament this weekend.

Some are going as individuals while other schools have qualified as teams.

Kids from grades 4 through 12 will shoot their best shot at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Saturday.

Archery is a sport that is attracting students from all different backgrounds and it’s making a positive impact in the classroom.

School administrators say it’s improving student concentration, motivation, engagement, and behavior.

The sport also welcomes students with disabilities.

South Dearborn, Batesville, Oldenburg Academy, Greensburg, Jac-Cen-del, St. Mary’s Catholic School and Milan are just some of the schools that will be represented at the NASP state tournament.
