Local athletes commit to NCAA D1 programs Wednesday

National Signing Day early period began Wednesday

(ST. LEON, Ind.) – A few local athletes signed their National Letters of Intent, or made a formal commitment to continue their careers at NCAA Division 1 programs on Wednesday. 

November 13 is the day of this year’s signing period for all sports except football. 

Franklin County softball player Brooke Stang will be taking her talents to Champaign. She officially committed to the University of Illinois on Wednesday.

Greensburg standout basketball player Leah West signed her commitment to continue her career at Belmont University in Nashville. 

Two East Central girl’s soccer players also made their official commitment. Goalkeeper Rylee Schloss will play at Eastern Illinois and Alyssa Brians will continue her soccer career at Morehead State.
