Local club volleyball teams win Indy tournament

Both teams went undefeated

The SEIVB 15-year-old team

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Southeast Indiana Volleyball (SEIVB) club competed in the Team Indiana Winterfest tournament this weekend.

The tournament features teams from across the state as well as Ohio and Kentucky.

SEIVB’s 15-year-old Elite club and 16-year-old Elite club both competed in their respective divisions. Each team is comprised of girls from several local high schools.

Both teams went undefeated and won their tournaments against tough competition.

Larry Ehler coaches the 15-year-old squad and said their 5-0 performance is a testament to how the team continues to improve.

“It isn’t always pretty, but they find a way to win in uncomfortable situations. I’m proud of how far they’ve come and can’t wait to see where they end up at the end of the season.” Ehler said.

The 15-year-old Elite team is now 13-2 on the season.

SEIVB 16-year-old team

Meanwhile, the 16-year-old Elite team continued their dominating ways to improve to 16-0 on the season.

“They believe in themselves wholeheartedly and never believe they are out of the game. They proved that again this weekend when they found themselves down big in the championship but found a way to win. As their coach, I couldn’t be prouder of their teamwork, heart, and commitment to finding a way to win,” head coach Cassie Laker said.

SEIVB is a developmental club for local girls who want to improve their level of play and understanding of volleyball.

Over the past three years, the club has expanded from being just developmental to now including elite-level teams.

SEIVB welcomes girls from age 10-18 to build their volleyball skills and love for the game. Learn more by clicking here.
