Local officers graduate from police academy

Several agencies were represented at the graduation

Three Ripley Co. deputies graduated Friday

(SOUTHEAST IND.) -- Several local agencies are adding to their ranks as new police officers graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy on Friday.


The Ripley County Sheriff's Office has three deputies that graduated from the course, Dustin Bowling, Shayna Cox, JT Linkel.


"Sheriff Bradley and Chief Deputy Davidson joined the families of the graduates last night in Plainfield. Welcome home team. We can’t wait to get you on the road serving the citizens of Ripley County," said chief deputy Lee Davidson.


Vevay Police Officer John Roach graduated from the class while Rising Sun celebrated two new officers, Bryce Abner and Jessica Bruggeman.


The Brookville Police Department also was represented in the class as patrolman Levi Muckridge graduated on Friday.


To complete the 16-week course, the new officers must complete 600 hours of intense law enforcement training.
