One of the top boat races in the world
(MADISON, Ind.) –One of the largest hydroplane races in the United States takes place this weekend.
The Madison Regatta began in 1951 and it is expected to attract an estimated 25,000 people to Jefferson County this year.
The races will feature boats that can travel upwards of 200 miles per hour.
“The Madison Regatta not only celebrates the spirit of competition but also serves as a vital component of the local culture and economy, bringing together a community of fans and families year after year,” organizers said.
The event also features the Roostertail Music Festival, along with a parade, fireworks, vendors and activities all weekend.
