Court hearings underway in Hamilton County
(CINCINNATI) – A convicted killer of a 10-year-old girl who’s body was found in Bright, Indiana in 1991 is seeking a new trial this week.
63-year-old Jeffrey Allen Wogenstahl was convicted of kidnapping Amber Garrett from her Harrison home and was sentenced to death row in 1993.
There are court hearings underway this week in Hamilton County as Wogenstahl hopes to overturn his death sentence for a new trial.
The hearings come just weeks after Ohio’s top court rejected his appeal on whether his case should have been heard in Ohio.
Wednesday marks Day 2 of the hearings in Cincinnati.
