Mega Millions soars to $1.15B after no Christmas Eve match

Next drawing on Friday

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – Somebody could receive a belated Christmas miracle after the Mega Millions jackpot continues to grow.

The grand prize has soared to an estimated $1.15 billion after no ticket matched all six numbers on Christmas Eve. The cash prize is $516.1 million.

It will be the fifth largest jackpot in Mega Millions history if there is a matching ticket on the next drawing on Friday night.

“We know that many people will likely receive tickets to Friday’s drawing as holiday gifts, and what a gift that would turn out to be if you ended up with a ticket worth a $1.15 billion jackpot,” said Joshua Johnston, lead director for the Mega Millions Consortium.

The overall odds of winning any Mega Millions prize are 1 in 24; the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350.

The winning numbers on Christmas Eve were 11, 14, 38, 45 and 46, plus the gold Mega Ball 3.
