(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) -- Communities across Southeast Indiana will recognize the importance of Memorial Day on Monday.
In Brookville, a parade will be held starting at 9 a.m. that begins at St. Michael's Church, passes by Old Brookville Cemetery, the Purple Heart Memorial before ending at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Fallen heroes will be honored with a airplane flyover after bagpipes, Taps and the National Anthem are performed.
"We will also be honoring our fallen with several 21-gun salutes. We have very few female Veterans, of which I am honored to be a part of. The town has hung banners of our own Brookville, IN hometown heroes," said organizer Faith Jones.
